Susan Eubanks – Vengeful Infanticide

On October 26, 1997, Susan Eubanks of San Marcos California shot her four sons, ranging in age from 4 – 14, in the head. She turned the gun on herself, shooting herself in the stomach. Her 5-year-old nephew remained in the house, unharmed.  Susan spent the day drinking and taking valium with her boyfriend. They fought and she slashed 2 tires on his car. Dodson gathered his possession and as he was leaving Eric Eubanks showed up. They left together in Eric’s car. Dodson told Eubanks as they were driving that Susan had said she was going to shoot the boys and herself. They went to the North Bar, where they spent several hours.

Th evening at the bar, Eric Eubanks received a page, alerting him to a voice-mail message. He listened to it, and called 911. His estranged wife had recorded two words on his telephone answering machine: “Say goodbye.” Brandon was shot in the living room as he watched TV; the others were in their bedroom, on a bunk bed, playing Nintendo.  watch deadly women: killing her sons over divorce

5 days after the murders, Susan was charged with four counts of first degree murder. During her trial there were allegations of child abuse and talk of revenge against her ex-husband prior to the murders. After being convicted of four counts of first degree murder, Susan Eubanks was sentenced to the death penalty. At her sentencing a month later, she said she loved her children but felt they would be better off dead. She said she killed her boys as a final act of love in what was an attempted murder-suicide. i can not believe this woman has the nerve to have a Profile up seeking a penpal. The fact that she handles men that leave her with the method she did that ended her up in prison would have me running for the hills if i was a man and the pictures she uses well she looks a LOT smaller than she does in the others i have seen.

I think it is important to consider that her husband was convicted of spousal abuse. He was knew she had talked about killing her sons, but did nothing about it. Both the murdering mother and the father who did nothing about his ex-wife’s homicidal tendancies had severe drug and alcohol problems.

I went to High School with Brandon, we rode the bus together. He was the nicest person you could ever meet. He was everyone’s friend. I remember sitting in my Algebra class my freshman year when my school counselor came in and told us that Brandon had been killed. I wait patiently for his justice but it cannot come soon enough.

I believe poor Brandon was a wonderful person…not a perfect person but then again who is? However justice has been served – his killers are both in penitentiaries and cannot hurt anyone else. Lotter is on death row. His sidekick is inside for life. That’s about as much justice as anyone can get. Justice however is reactive. We need to instill procactive learning and systems so that crimes of this nature are not committed in the first place.

We watched this tonight on the ID Channel – what a shame & tragedy & we ask ourselves why has someone been on death row for 13 years? (& Honestly, how did she find 3 men to sleep with her?)

  8. IRON FIST says:

Why is the ugly fat pig baby killer still alive. Do the right thing and shuffle her off this mortal coil and let her check into Hotel HELL.

  9. a-zone says:

if anyone deserves the death penalty it must be women who kill their children, those beautiful boys who she said would be better off dead? no-one has the right to decide that for a child. they deserve to be nurtured and loved into adulthood, her assertion they would be better off dead was because she knew she couldnt do that for them, maybe she knew their fathers couldnt do that for them either, but they deserved the right to try. may she forever live with the guilt, here and in the hereafter

I knew Susan somewhat briefly. She may have been troubled or whatever but she was a class A bitch. Sweet little boys. I had only seen the 3 youngest. Taking out your kids in an act of what she called ‘love’ is the ultimate selfish act. She can’t die soon enough for me.
